What is oral myofunctional therapy & how can it help me?
Oral myofunctional therapy (OMT) is a specialized treatment that focuses on retraining the muscles of the face, tongue, and mouth to function in a more balanced, efficient way. Many people don’t realize that habits like tongue thrusting, mouth breathing, or poor tongue posture can contribute to pain, dysfunction, and misalignment in the jaw and surrounding muscles.

For people with TMJD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction), OMT can play a major part in establishing a comprehensive treatment plan. It addresses the root causes of muscle tension and imbalance that may be contributing to jaw pain, popping, headaches, clenching, and even snoring. Many clients find that combining OMT with physical therapy techniques leads to quick, longer lasting relief.
